About Chalet Le Mousqueton ...
We are really excited to have the five-star Chalet Le Mousqueton join OVO Network! This three-storey detached chalet for 14 (max 10 adults) is popular with winter sports enthusiasts, as it is close to the lift. In fact, it's so close that the Transval lift passes over the garden!
Totally renovated, this stunning six-bedroom chalet near La Clusaz has all new furniture and a funky bright decor that will appeal particularly to family groups - although we're sure the huge games and enterainment room with TV, pool table, air hockey and table tennis will be a hit with the adults too!
It's less than a 3km drive to the village of La Clusaz, or you could take the ski bus, which stops less than 100m away. The village has a great choice of bars and restaurants, as well as a supermarket. There is also a smaller supermarket, a boulangerie and a couple of bars and restaurants in Merdassier, plus bars and restaurants within a 500m walk of the chalet.
The property ...
As you enter Chalet Le Mousqueton you'll discover the first two bedrooms - a double room with an en-suite shower room and a twin room both of which have access to an outdoor terrace. There's also a huge sauna with its own shower room, and a little further along the lobby, the games and media room.
Also on this floor is the laundry, the boiler room and a very useful kit room with benches, boot warmers and glove warmers, and lots of space to store your outdoor gear. A door from here leads to the garage, with a table tennis table and more space for storing bikes etc.
Take the central staircase up a floor to the living area - a cosy sitting room with sofas, stools and an armchair around a television and a wood-burning stove. The well-equipped kitchen has lots of storage as well as a central island with bar stools. There's also a huge dining table for everyone, with panoramic views, from Etale across to Beauregard.
There are two more bedrooms on this floor too - a double with an en-suite shower room and a twin bedroom as well as a separate shower room. This area can be closed off for privacy or left open so that guests using the living area can use the toilet in the shower room.
There's a family bathroom on the second floor, with a fabulous free-standing bath, two hand basins and a huge shower. The toilet is separate. There is also a double bedroom with views of Etale, and a dorm room which can be arranged with four single beds or two doubles. Unusually for Alpine properties, all of the bedrooms have thick carpets for extra cosiness!
There's a huge terrace outside which is great for eating out in the summer. In the winter, wrap up warm, grab a chocolat chaud and look out for shooting stars! Younger children will love the little playhouse in the garden - a mini chalet all of their own.
About the area ...
With the Transval ski lift, ski hire shop and lift pass office just 50m away, Chalet Le Mousqueton is a great choice for skiers and boarders. Competent skiers will be able to ski down to the Telemix at Etale, although youngsters going for lessons there may need to be walked down (less than 300m).
The ski bus stops nearby, linking La Clusaz with Croix Fry, and is free with the Carte d'hôte and the Aravis ski pass. This ski pass will also give you access to 220km of pistes in Manigod, La Clusaz and Le Grand Bornand, so you will never be short of a challenge.
Floodlights mean you can ski into the night in La Croix Fry, and the weekly torchlit descent into La Clusaz is unforgettable!
A wide selection of trails ensures cross-country skiers are be spoilt for choice, while non-skiers can try the local ice rink and swimming pool in La Clusaz, and sledging run, or strap on some snowshoes and take to the mountain paths.
With all this on your doorstep, there's no need to venture further, but if you want to, Chamonix is within easy reach for a day out.
In the summer, Chalet Le Mousqueton is the perfect base for an action-packed holiday.
Hike into the Col des Aravis, or let the ski lift ferry you and your bike into the mountains, so you can come back down at your own pace. Other local activities include horse-riding, climbing, via ferrata and paragliding - there is always something new to try in La Clusaz.
Just 30 minutes away, the medieval city of Annecy offers a great choice of shops, restaurants, galleries and museums, as well as swimming, boating and water sports in the cleanest lake in Europe.
At the end of the day you'll love returning to Chalet Le Mousqueton, where you can relax on the terrace or in the sauna and make plans for the next great day.
We think that Chalet Le Mousqueton has everything you need for a great holiday - if you think so too, why not check our availability calendar to see when it is free? We will be happy to hold your dates for 24 hours, so that you can finalise your plans.

From the Owner
“It had been but a pipe dream for so many years..."
“It had been but a pipe dream for so many years, but finally, in late 2016, we were delighted to become the proud new owners of a gorgeous chalet, Le Mousqueton, in La Clusaz. The chalet had been used as a family home for many years, so the layout and bedroom / bathroom ratio was in need of some updating if it was going to work for multiple families to share. But the chalet itself had ‘great bones’, so it was a fantastic opportunity for us to give it a new lease of life, as well as our chance to put our own stamp on it.
It’s funny how when you start these things, you don’t think there is that much to do until you actually sit down and put pen to paper. The next thing you know, it has morphed into a massive building project! Perhaps that is no surprise when it was our desire to create our perfect chalet to enjoy as a family with our friends and relatives, as well as hopefully one that would appeal to families generally.
Our own exacting standards, combined with our obsession with maximising space and light, has led us to create a bright and ample living space, but which maintains that all-important cosy chalet feel. Furthermore, what I hope we have also achieved is a space where in addition to everyone being able to come together, those who wish to can also find their own space. Relax on one of the four terrace areas with a drink (book optional!) taking in the fabulous mountain views, chill (or rather warm the cockles!) in the sauna, or enjoy a sneaky snooze in one of our six lovely bedrooms.
If you are feeling more sociable, you can challenge your friends to a game of pool / air hockey or table tennis, watch a movie in the media room or take pleasure in a good old fashioned chat over dinner or in our relaxing lounge area.
Leave your stresses and strains at home – welcome to Chalet Le Mousqueton!

“A great chalet”
This was a lovely chalet to stay in, perfectly laid out and great beds and duvets. Fully equipped throughout, great laundry room, and overall well appointed with everything you could wish for. This is a great chalet. In terms of location it is close enough to walk to La Clusaz, or the excellent free bus which is a lovely bustling village in the summer. We enjoyed the quiet evenings with the sound of cowbells. The balcony's and garden where lovely to sit on and view was tremendous. The BBQ was excellent.

“Thank you for everything!”
The chalet was superb, and the welcome from the manager Steve was very kind. The chalet is very practical and close to the lifts. The layout of the living room and the kitchen is very practical. The games room and the ski store are a real bonus. The bedrooms are beautiful and the linen is really excellent. La Clusaz is a really beautiful village.

“No hesitation in recommending it. ”
We had a lovely time, the chalet was beautiful, clean, well equipped and close to the lifts. Steve the manager was particularly helpful.

“An ideal chalet”
Many thanks for the Reblochon cheese and the local wine - a kind thought. Your chalet is perfect for 14 people, and we really loved the comfortable beds! It was great having an en suite bathroom in every room, so that everyone had their privacy. Another advantage was the heated ski store for our damp gear! The games room and home cinema were perfect for young and adult guests. Finally we appreciated how clean everything was, including the bedding. We enjoyed the last few days of skiing at the end of the season, with beautiful weather and snow at the top of La Balme. We are looking forward to a second holiday!

“See you soon ”
We had a really lovely stay. The chalet is very comfortable. We were delighted and hope to return.

“Gorgeous chalet, great skiing”
Very impressed with this fantastic chalet. Really lovely bedrooms and bathrooms. We also used the sauna a lot after skiing. The boot room is really a plus too!

We stayed at Chalet Le Mousqueton over New Year. We all had a really wonderful break in this beautiful chalet which, as well as being stylish, is comfortable and luxuriously equipped with lots of different features for all ages. Thoughtful design means the chalet is extremely practical, from the location close to ski hire and lifts outside the village centre, so you can have direct access to the slopes and to a ‘wet gear room’ making life easier for children, and their accompanying adults.
Après-ski activities were superb and we made good use of the wood-burning stove to re-warm those frosty feet, whilst the children monopolised the games room. Full use was also made of both the well-equipped kitchen and generously appointed dining room allowing us to cater for our group of 13 with ease. La Clusaz itself is a lovely town with all the amenities you’d expect and a good range of restaurants. The surrounding ski slopes cater for all abilities.

“A fantastic stay at Le Mousqueton! ”
Three families together for a perfect skiing break - truly five star, the owners seem to have thought of everything. My husband loves to cook and the kitchen was very well equipped, allowing us to enjoy wonderful meals. The views from the chalet are fabulous, and the interior is well designed and luxurious. I would thoroughly recommend it and can’t wait to come back in summer!
